The moment we speak of Shyam Benegal, we remember names like Manthan, Ankur, Sardari Begum and Zubeidaa. Even the recent Welcome to Sajjanpur has a color that strongly reminds us of the great story teller. With films dealing with the common man and their troubles, Shyam Benegal has given rise to a new genre that can be rightfully called "Middle Cinema." And this time he has created magic with none other than the great comedian Boman Irani. As far as reports from the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) go, this film is surely one to watch out for.

Boman being the central character energises the film with his reel like daughter Minissha Lamba, his twin brother (Boman again) and another veteran performer, Ila Arun. It revolves around the realistic world of a common man who tries to dribble between his job, his boss, the politics of daily life, his daughter's marriage and the ultimate goal of keeping his moral on the right path. But how and why this Abba gets a pat on the back is what you must find out in the theatres.

Just because it went to a Film Festival, it does not mean that the film is non commercial. Shyam benegal's direction will leave you in splits; Shantanu Moitra is all set to create magic with his music all over again; be repared for a surprise as the lyrics come jointly from Ila Arun Swanand Kirkire and Ashok Mishra. This film needs an audience who will expect a message along side the comedy which are way beyond slapstick jokes.

So Abba bring it on!!! We are waiting!!!
