Women in the Hindi film industry (read Bollywood) have charmed, mesmerized and captivated millions of their fan. Be it their shy way of smiling at the hero, their simplicity with which they play a mother, their passionate love or their fidgety and naughty girl-next door image; all of them have made a special place in the hearts of their audience. But it is only when these ladies don their bikinis that they are the most ravishing.

It might interest you to learn that not only the heroines of today, but even conservative ladies like Ayesha Begum (better known as Sharmila Tagore) took the whole film fraternity by awe when she appeared in this avatar in “An Evening in Paris.” The sizzling Zeenat Amaan too rocked it with Firoz Khan in “Qurbaani.” While it was obvious for Helen to appear in the raunchiest outfits of all times, there were many who were left gaping to see Parveen Babi join the league. These three beauties who hailed as the top line of heroines of their times were glamorous and tempting. It might do some good for Soha to take tips from her mom! While there were others who did try to join this band by sporting the skimpiest clothes they could get, they really never could make it to this league where there was a conjugation of beauty, glamour and sensuality.

One can never forget Dimple “Bobby” Kapadia who gave us a peek into her talent and her skin and vanished only to return as a more mature and attractive lady. She was all class and no clamor. From “Sagar” to “Jaanbaaz,” all that she flaunted was her strength to carry off a bikini or a saree with equal élan. Then came the age where almost all the ladies could bare it all. But even here a certain amount of class set some apart from the others. Though Bipasha Basu showed a lot of “Jism,” she remembered to keep in shape to create a lot of “Dhoom.” The bright yellow swim suit and the sultry look were only accentuated by those curves of the Bong beauty. The two Miss India finalists, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta, battled over the same man in their own “Andaaz” only to become the biggest bomb shells of B-town. Priyanka had no “Aitraaz” in letting her fans lap up those million dollar features while she had a gala time basking in her golden bikini in Miami. Lara too emerged a stalwart in this field as she made the temperatures sore up in the “Blue” waters.

The other two A-league heroines too were not far behind to join the band wagon of the sexy sirens. While Katrina Kaif is now staying away from hitting the right cords on the beaches, one might still remember her sizzling and smoking debut in Kaizad Gustad’s “Boom.” Not to forget Kareena Kapoor’s look in “Kambakht Ishq” for which did get a lot of attention. Though there was some smokiness in “Tashan” too, people have now learnt that only a bikini babe is not good enough to save a film.

That reminds us of Ameesha Patel who looked like a yellow rose while she sang about her “Thoda Pyaar” to Saif, but it did not quite create any magic at the box office. Even the sultry Celina did her bit to save “Jaannasheen” by playing the violin in a bikini; but probably that was only what we remember of the movie.

Talking of bikinis, we can never leave out the hot bod who considers it her favorite dress. No points for guessing it is Mallika Sherawat! Name any movie and she appears in her sarong only to toss it away to let us gape at those shapely legs. But the one lady that we are dying to see in a bikini is Deepika Padukone. She did it for a calendar and we are more than anxious to see this leggy lass shake her booty in a g-string. We hope we get some gossip soon!

No matter what happens, there will always be takers for ladies who come along boldly to give us a peek-a-boo into those vital statistics that we only fantasize about. Let good sense prevail over all directors and we keep getting glimpses of new talents too. We are waiting girls!!!
