Indian Politics on Reel

India’s pride is its epic, Mahabharata. And now based on the political angle of it is the upcoming film, Raajneeti. UTV Motion Pictures and WalkWater Media Limited have come together to present this film that has been directed by Prakash Jha. The film draws real life allusions with the Gandhi family. Many stars come together to give you entertainment galore. Katrina Kaif plays a dive that gets sucked into the whirlpool of politics. We do find a lot of similarity with Sonia Gandhi. Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal are the two people who come from diametrically opposite poles but conjoin into one stream ~ Politics. Are the playing the reel life roles of Rajeev Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi? Well, of course the team will object. But we will believe what we have to.

If you thought what the rustic Ajay Devgan was doing in the film, then your hunch is correct. He plays a man who hails from a backward class and tastes the joys of political success. Manoj Bajpai gets a role that suits him well; intense and meaty. The surprise item comes from Naseeruddin Shah, who is the staunch Leftist leader. But what happens to him in the film is a secret. Even Nana Patekar comes alive here as a mentor.

Jha promises you to bring refreshingly sparkling performances. A strange combination of actors is what will make it a success. There is though a bidesi tarka in the form of Sara Thompson. What this American babe does will come to light on the 28th of May 2010. We suggest you stay tuned for this film. It can be touted as one that will break all barriers to show the Indian political scenario in a different light!
